I am going to acquire an iPod shuffle soon and I was wondering if you could arrange the song files by it's chronological listing on an album. Also can you scroll through the library on the shuffle itself to skip between albums?

Yes you can. Shuffle allows you to set it to one of two modes- shuffle and direct play- which plays the songs in the order you load them.

No, you cannot flip through albums, to my knowledge- song by song only.
