Luckily when my headphone jack broke on my iPod (80GB 5.5G) I got my fiio E5 that same day, so I could just use that. I am going to buy a replacement for it, probably today.
The real problem, now is that my LOD has a loose connection. I can sync without a problem, as well as my Philips portable DVD/iPod player work. But when I use my LOD connector, sound doesn't come out unless I wiggle it. I was able to test my LOD on my roomate's iPod and saw that the LOD itself wasn't the problem. It is not the fiio, either, so I have decided it must be the iPod itself.
I did a small amount of research and saw places can do full fixes for ~$80... Is it worth it, or is it a part I can buy and easily swap out? I noticed you can buy logic boards (haven't checked ebay for these, yet) for ~$70. I've had this for three years, so no more warranty.
