Ipod remote: compatability between 3G & 4G

Just a question to those who know. Is the old 3G ipod remote able to be used on the new 4G?

Its a pity the dock is not compatible... but if the remote was it would be one reason less not to upgrade (that extra battery life is what I really want).

Yes the old 3G remote works. Plus, even for the 4G pods with audio problems (of which there are many!) some report that if you use the remote the audio problems go away.

Go slow on the 4G tho -- many seem to have audio interference through the headphone jack. Might make sense to wait a month or so until the first batches of product are worked through.

Thanks guys, and thanks for the warning on the problems. I'll certainly wait a few months. The fact that it has been rumoured that lower energy usage drives will be available later in the year is also a good reason to hold off a bit longer.

But getting only 5 to six hours a day of music is killing me! I guess charging at work is the short term answer.
