Hi,

I currently own the following:

IPOD Classic 6.5gen
PX100
PX200
HD595
HD650
CX500

As you can tell I love the Senn Sound.

I usually use the ipod with the px100/200 for on the move. I like the sound but think it can be better. Also the ipod I have is the UK version so I can't get much volume out of it. I don't mind the cx500 but I find the soundstage lacking compared to the px's and they seem to be very microphonic.

I would also like to use the ipod with the HD650s for home/office use. But this is a secondary issue.

What should I do....get a portable amp, line-out adaptor or a new set of cans for travel use?

I don't have much to spend, maybe £100/$150.

Any ideas?

You can use :
WESTONE UM2 directely from the headphone line out.
Or use an (used)amp and link it out from the LOD.
2 solutions works great.
I'm in France and my ipod are like yours with a limited volum.
If your ipod is not an Iphone you can try to unlimited the volum by the use of ipodwisard witch is a free uncap volum soft.

If you want to use your HD650 with iPod then an amp is a must for good SQ.

With my 6.5G I have listened to HD650 straight from HP jack with volume at 100%...it is listenable and better than using a much lesser HP.
