I'm trying to read extensive text files in the note reader on my iPod. They're .txt versions of proper, full books, downloaded from Project Gutenberg (Plato, Mark Twain). They open up ok, but only display about the first thirty lines. Does anyone know if I can do anything about this?

P

ps sorry if this is too far off-topic

I believe there's a limitation (or at least use to be) with the Notes feature. Maybe that's why it's called "notes".

I believe the limitation is 4 kb. See here [pdf], for specs.

Congrats on finally getting your iPod.

Yeah, I was kind of let down by that too. I had hoped that I would be able to use it read books, too. It is probably just as well, it feels like the hard drive does a lot of work when I am messing around with notes.

You might as well just get an ulra-cheap, used PDA for reading texts. That is what I do.
