iPod mini vs Zen Micro with an Aussie Twist

Feb 6, 2005 at 4:52 AM Post #16 of 26
I have a micro and my two friends have mini's. We ALL agree that the micro is better....but i have had some minor problems with mine that were easily fixed by simply taking out the battery and putting it back in. If the old man has any ability at all get him the micro, if he is on oxygen and uses an electric chair get him the mini. If he is partially blind get him the Ipod shuffle, he will never notice the lack of screen.

wnewport - you brought tears to my eyes.

He's actually pretty fit & healthy for his age. He's not scared of electronics, but finding his way around computers. He has a mobile phone - whereas I don't!

The UI will be very important and I'm still leaning towards the mini becuase of iTunes (or what I've read about it).

pauls

AManInJapan - hadn't read your response while typing the above. Another very good case for the mini.

Well, if Carbon's off (sad), I say micro. You don't want a 5 hour battery life with a mini, do you?

both the UI's are the same basicaly the micro has a couple extra features but both are basically the same. itunes and wmp are just as easy to use. itunes is loved because of its playlists. he's probobly more likely to be firmiliar with wmp10 because its been around and popular forever. i assume your kidding about amaninjapan.

mas - engear and mp3direct are the same company (Logix Innovations). engear deals in other electronic stuff as well as audio (eg digital cameras). I normally look at both sites, but the prices are pretty similar - postage identical.

headphones.com.au has a great headphone selection. Most Koss stuff (apart from the famed KSC-35s). They stock the new KSC-75 as well as the KSC-50; both retail for $64 with free delivery. In fact, i just got myself a pair of KSC-75s myself from them - took approx 1 week,
