well for those that care, or for future people that use search and find this thread, this is what i went with:

IPOD LINE-OUT-DOCK (LOD) FOR HEADPHONE AMP, SPC COLOR! - eBay (item 250601092681 end time Apr-20-10 04:53:05 PDT)

its made by a Head-fi member, his username is "compicat"

he was great to deal with, he cut me a bit of a deal too for being a fellow head-fi member

i should get it in about two weeks, and then i'll post if i noticed any difference or not

finally got my cable, and it defiantly sounds better than just using the headphone jack. i'm playing lossless files on a normal ipod (not an imod) and using a penguin ultra amp with my dt770/250 premium version.

i spent less than 30 dollars. and i think it was worth it

honestly though, have any of the posters heard an expensive LOD through top of the line gear? I am very curious if you "won" the portable game(i.e hifiman, protector, jh13/16s) in everything but the LOD if upgrading the LOD would actually MAKE a difference at that point

Qables>performance line>$43? Highly recommended. Fiio cable-dirt cheap>see on eBay (better than you would expect,you will be surpraised)

Well then - assuming this line of order(or rough equivalents) - how MUCH better are they? I mean... how much more can they milk out of an Ipod hah!
