All my music is on HDD- but I would like to try a tube amp.
Does it make any sense to ran an ipod into a Woo Amp?
I found a LOD with RCA outs that I can use to patch in.
or would I need a DAC?

Totally works fine.

Functionally it works fine, but I used an iMod as a source with both a WA3+ and a WA6 and I felt the iMod lacked the output voltage to get a decent volume level out of the Woo amps. I think you really need a source with more output voltage to take advantage of the Woo amps. Either that, or some very sensitive cans. I was using 701's at the time and I don't think it was a good match.

Are you going to buy a DAC and CD player as transport?

I use an ALO docking station for ipod with my DV (Zu mini to RCA). My ipods are rockboxed and all my files are either FLAC or WavPack. The sound is great. I'm listening to it right now with HD650s..

As long as your music was ripped good and you have lossless files, you will not be disappointed....

EDIT-- edit on the CD player...I'm assuming you were referring to a USB DAC for PC.....
