If I connect, say, a Sansa Fuze to a Beyer DT990 (250ohm), will I damage anything?

If nothing will get damaged, anyone has any idea how it may sound (compared to the stock earphones that came with it)? Lower volume? And possibly less impact/punch?

You won't damage anything but I'm afraid they will not sound very good.
I tried the HD580 on the Fuze just for fun. It doesn't sound bad exactly but you lack volume, loose dynamics, loose bass punch, loose treble extension. I'm not even gonna try my 600 Ohm DT990, they already sound like crap from much more powerful equipment.

You won't damage anything, that is for sure. It'll probably sound crappy, but try it anyway. It might be at least passable. I don't know how sensitive the 990s are but who knows.

Heh heh. Thanks. I just wanted to make sure that no damage will result, then I'll just give it a try for the heck of it.

You won't damage your player or headphones. The combo will simply sound dull and lifeless.
