Alright so I bought a iPod extension cable off of ebay; supposedly supports audio out and syncing, etc. It works completely fine with my FiiO E1 amp, but when I try to hook it up to the computer, iTunes freezes up and the device doesn't show up. Though, it shows the charging/sync("Connected") screen on the iPod and makes the "new device" Windows noise on the computer. When I plug the iPod back in with out the extension, it gives me a "iPod files corrupted" message or something of that nature, but works perfectly fine afterward.

Anyone know what would cause this? Also, I popped open the male connector and noticed there's only 18 wires.
