Came across a review of this product in the latest HiFi News:

Is this the first dock that lets you do this with an iPod? Looks interesting, but I don't get the point of trying to turn a portable device into your primary storage drive, particularly for $2 grand.

I can see the appeal. It essentially uses the iPod as a remote, which has a very high cool factor to it. But ... can I not get the same sound quality with the digital out of an Airport Express, an even better interface with iTunes, and more storage in a MacBook, for a lower total price? Small stereo components are hot right now, and this fits the bill, but it strikes me as having a higher SAF than bang/buck ratio.
