There's a spirited conversation on the following over on AK, and the more I participated in the subject the less I knew.
Since a lot of folks here have dealt extensively with iPods, I'm hoping someone can help.
It's been widely reported that a handful of devices - starting with the Wadia and now expanding to several other products - bypass the iPod's internal DAC.
So far so good.
But what if you're not using one of those devices and you have an iPod LOD to USB connection? What's being sent through the cable? Presumably it's digital, but if so, how is it different from the signal you get from a Wadia or an iStreamer?
tks,
Scott A.
