iPod Color 60GB, circuit findings...

A little late to the party, but I just picked up a used 20GB and it distorts pretty bad too. Since I have some experience soldering itty bitty electronics I was wondering if this bad op-amp could be bypassed. (I think the Red Wine mod does this.) Can the DAC drive the headphones directly?

Can someone who has already cracked theirs open and looked at this tell me if it's just a matter of removing/bypassing an IC, and if so, which one?
