Which do you think is more reasonable when I am planning to do mainly lossless? 80gb or 160gb?

I'm too lazy to count, but I've got maybe around 200. I wont do them all lossless because of time, but I also plan on buying more.

I'm going to the dark side. My zune just deleted 70 songs automatically with autosync off.

It's up to you. I've got 200gb of music/video and I'm perfectly happy with my 8gb nano. It all depends on how much you want to play around with loading music on it.

the 160 if you plan on music, podcasts ,movies and photos it all adds up.
i left out music videos and i-books but if music only an 80gb may work
just fine i have 1000 song in loseless with a couple of music videos and photo's its full.
its a 30gb.

If I was billed for the time that I spent making this decision, I would have spent many times the difference in price. The 160Gb Classic is reasonably priced. Just do it and be happy.

3. longer battery life (10 for music/2 for vedio)
4. a little thicker
5. a little heavier

The point #3 is my reason to choose 160G over 80G

Just get the 160. If you get the 80 you may end up kicking yourself in the ass for not later.

this is a really good point. I have also thought about the amount of time i spend trying to find goood deals, and im not sure it is worth the money i save... but it feels goood to spend less on gear

Go with the 160, you will always need more space. Maybe not today but just when you think you don't want to deal with Lossless you hear or see something that takes you over to the dark side because you know you have to space to pack it around with

Well in real life terms, i listen to my 160Gb Classic roughly 5 hours a day, and charge it 2/3 times a week.
