iPod and Rockbox

This is about the third portable audio topic I've made today but my Zen MicroPhoto just died today so I'm in the middle of choosing a new player. One option I'm heavily considering is an iPod 5th Gen 30gb. However, I don't like iTunes and I like the look of Rockbox, it looks like it has a lot of great features. Before I go ahead with buying an iPod though I need to ask one or two things;

3. Using Rockbox on the iPod, can you still plug the iPod into certain devices like a car stereo that supports the iPod etc and still have it work?

EDIT: Had 4 questions, found the answers elsewhere. Just this one now...

If the device only uses the line-out, then yes. Otherwise no since Rockbox does not support the Apple accessory protocol yet.
