does anyone know if iPhone 8 streams Tidal hifi in 16 bit lossless? Also, if I’m using lightning out to external dac, is Tidal hifi being converted to aac or is it cd quality out of lightning on iPhone 8?

Actually iOS 11 now supports FLAC natively.
That being said, if you're using the lightning port to output it shouldn't be converted anyways.
