I'm getting a new portable amp soon ( probabily the fiio e11) but I can't decide between a LOD or a new player (clip zip).

If you recommend a LOD then what one do you recommend?

Well, the zip offers microSD expanision, allowing for you to keep your music in higher bitrates and still fit on your device. FLAC on the go is awesome. It also supports FLAC, while the iPhone only supports ALAC. It can also be RockBoxed. With RockBox volume set to 0dB, you have a nearly perfect line-level signal, similar to an iPhone. On the other hand, iPhones have more functions, such as streaming music. Plus, you only have to carry one device, instead of two. I personally don't like having my audio rig tied to my phone, and I need the extra storage space, so I use a Clip+. My vote is therefore for the Sansa.

You can also get microSD card holders that fit in your wallets credit card slots, allowing you to carry a dozen microSD cards around with you easily. 13 microSD cards...32gb each...thats a lot of FLAC
