Hello, how are you?
I currently have a Fostex HP-P1 that I used with an iPod Classic 7th Gen.
I used that setup at work and for some rare portable use.
The thing is that the HDD on my iPod died.
I am currently thinking if it is worth getting a replacement HDD, convert it to CF-cards or just buy a new DAP.

I was thinking about maybe getting and iPod touch 64gb 4th gen or an iPad Mini 64gb.
I was used to 160gb on my dap and going to 64gb will mean more frequent syncs.
My music library is just over 1tb and all lossless ALAC files. So, 64gb would not hold much.

I was wondering if anyone uses an iPad mini as source and how does that work for you in regard to size and portability?
Also, is it fully compatible with the HP-P1?

Cheers and thanks!

I think you should just replace the HDD in your iPod. It will be cost effective and you know that setup already works for you. Some people have even put mini SSD's in their iPod classics. Maybe that would interest you. It would make the performance much faster when loading up all that music you store on it.
