X7 Accessories - LC-X7A Leatherette Cover & PF-X7 Asahi Glass
Hi team. Received a small pack from Fiio this week and thought you guys might be interested.
First up the LC-X7A leather case:
(as usual - click individual images for 1200x800 full size photo)

Retail box front | Retail box rear | The leather case from the left |
Comes in Fiio's now usual red and white retail case. Front has a standard window, rear just has product info and 2D barcodes. Case is made of dual layer composite leatherette, with a leather grain texture on the outside and an inner felt lining for protection. It's only if you look at it really closely that you realise its a synthetic leather - really well made and looks like the real thing.

And from the right | The underside | With the X7 inserted |
They've gone to great detail, because it even looks like it is fully stitched (it's not - but has that appearance). The cut-outs for ports, and controls are immaculately presented, and very uniform, and everything fits perfectly. It's also a pretty snug fit - just slide from the bottom - but no hint of slipping once inside - feels really firm.

Bottom - with easy access to USB port and headphone socket | Right side | Top and line-out socket |
For those wanting to protect the micro SD card, the case completely covers the port and effectively seals it. With the X7 pushed all the way in, there is a very slight overhang of the case at the bottom which means the exposed bottom end is also protected against possible knocks. The case also gives a couple of mm protection over the display surface for protection.
All-in-all it provides everything you'll need for protecting your investment, and looks pretty classy at the same time. I couldn't find it on Amazon quite yet - but it is showing on
Fiio's Ali-Express Store for the princely sum of USD 14.99. Totally worth it.
Penon Audio are also showing it now for a USD 19.00
And also - the Asahi Glass screen guard (PF-X7)

Retail case | Rear with application instructions |
Comes in a white box with red highlights and pic of the X7. On the rear is the installation instructions / diagram. Opening the box reveals two separate packs - one with preparation tools (alcohol wipe, lint free cloth, and a blue application pad (which I didn't actually use). The second pack holds the Asahi Glass protector.

2 packs - installation tools and actual Asahi Glass | Both packs opened |
Application was easy. Peel off old protector, and wash screen thoroughly with the supplied wet-wipe. Then dry completely with the lint-free cloth. Next remove the Asahi Glass protector screen, and peel the protective layer off. Grasp by the edges and very carefully line up and insatll on the X7 - simply by carefully laying it down. Press in the middle to remove bubbles, and then let it "self-install". Wipe firmly with the cloth again, and then you are good to go.

Asahi Glass installed - less than 5 minutes - easy | Fully protected X7 - case and glass. |
Fiio says that it is dust proof, scratch proof, waterproof and finger print resistant. You do get a few smears from a lot of handling, but a heck of a lot better than the old plastic type screen protectors. I can't even really tell that it is there visually, but it is keeping the screen a lot cleaner, and doesn't seem to have affected the navigation at all. Still really responsive.
The PF-X7 is available from
Amazon at $8.00 + freight ($5), or again from
Fiio's Ali-Express store ($10)
Thanks to Sunny for getting these to me. Highly recommend both accessories.
