  Thank you :)

I believe that my way of solving this will in deed be to buy a new AVR/poweramp and either step up my game with a new pair of speakers as well or use the old ones.

Thanks for helping me guys :) it has been fun, till the next time

No worries, glad we could help!

Good luck :)

Upgrade your entire system...

Get an Emotiva DC-1 and a pair of JBL LSR305

USB from your computer, TOSLINK from a cable box, streamer, or TV, decent headphone amp built in, and the LSR305 will give you great sound far beyond their price point.

In my small media room it is the best system from a value perspective I have ever had and I have had multiple systems in home and home/studio for many years now at all kinds of price points. This is simple, has a good remote control, and great sound performance.

Just a thought.

I think a DAC/pre, which now exist at all price points, along with small powered studio monitors now represent the smart choice for home audio unless you really need more than two channel stereo, at which point an AVR makes sense.
