Never owned or heard an AKG can before so when I got to listen to my friend's K240 Studios I was very impressed and now I want to get a set of my own. So the deliberation is K240 Studio or these newer versions the Mk II? I saw some hi-res photos of the Mk II and although they may include extra **** they seem to look like lower build quality. Your thoughts?

Can you elaborate on the differences between the k271 and k601? (if there are many) Or can any one?

A little more bass on the 702, Right? I remember the 271MKll offer a great upper mids, great for vocals and acoustics.

Yea I would say the K702 has more bass. Of all the AKGs I have owned the K702 is most similar to the Sennheiser sound. Also I would agree the vocals are a bit more pronounced on the K271 which seems to separate the instruments more. The K702 seems to present music in a more integrated and wholesome way. Also the treble is smoother on the K702, this might be due to the fact that my K271 is only 3 days old but overall the K271 is a crisper sounding headphone.
