Exactly the same triple flanged tips ship with the ER-4P and are shipped as an option on the Shure E5. Shure's are 'as is' which I ended up cutting, the Ety tips exhibit clear signs of bad cutting

I have the Shure E5 and love the triple flanged tips. However, they are relatively expensive.

If the Etymotic flanged tip is the same dimensions as the Shure's then I should order mine from Ety. Shure sells their triple flanged tips for $10.60/pr whereas Etymotic sells their flanged tips for $14/5 pr. (U.S. prices)

The ER-4 tips will be cut to fit the 4, which won't fit the E5 (the 'stalk' inside is too short for the E5). The easiest way to show you this is with the tips off.

I suppose you're paying for less silicone with the 4 tips

Oh, and they have exactly the same 3.5mm plugs too. Just diffierent colours.
