Interest in a Raleigh NC area meet?

I thought the meet went pretty well. Andrew did a great job hosting, and the crackers/cheese were great! Maybe we should start a new thread in the Head-fi Meet Impressions forum ?

So... if a meet happens, but nobody posts impressions... did it really happen?

this past week has been the week from hell at school so i haven't had a change to post impressions yet.... drew's friend Doug (brought the tube ampe we all huddled around) sent me a bunch of pics which i will upload soon....

of the stuff i tried out that stuck out:

AKG 501- nice sound, looks good, but too bass shy for me...

Joe Grado SR200- Very impressive grado..... more on the bright side... performs beautifully with female voices.... could get fatiguing to listen to with jazz pieces with lots of highs.... i liked it and wouldn't mind having a pair

i was surprised out how little difference there are between headphones at the top end...... but then again i have listened to a whole range of different equipment for extended periods so i guess it makes it harder to be able to pinpoint differences

listened to some good music that Jeff E brought to the meet....

that's all i can remember for now.... i enjoyed it

Ok I have the Dynahi all QC'd. Just need to button up and put the Power Supply in the chassis. So we will have this to review. I am also going to be carrying Grado so I will have a pair of the new SR325i's to listen to. As well I'm going to start carrying the Simpl Acoustics A1 Ipod amp. The A1 uses a Burr-Brown OPA2134 opamp in a non-inverting configuration with gain set to 11 by default. We use film input caps and 1% precision dale-vishay metal film resistors. The PCB has four layers with a layer for each channel, a power plane, and a ground plane. The A1 includes no volume control. Volume level is controlled from the iPod. There is no EQ circuitry. The battery can be replaced by us for a nominal fee. The use a lithium-ion battery which will allow 500 charge-discharge cycles. I'm sure I have some other things but cant think of them yet.

Hrmm...seems like I discovered this thread a lil too late. Hopefully I can make the next meeting. I attend school at State, live in a dorm, and my home is in Cary btw. I can bring over a Rio Carbon, a SuperMacro, ATH-CM7Ti earbuds, and my MS-1 with beta C-pads. With my schedule this semester, Sundays, Monday nights, or Wednesday nights would be best for me (I would need to hitch a ride on the weeknights though due to lack of transportation).
