I had an inline volume control rotary potentiometer, and today discovered that it had finally died.

I was wanting to lie in bed while listening to a church service on Zoom, and decrease the volume during worship (too loud) and increase it during talking (too quiet). Trying to balance audio levels in-person makes some pretty bad compromises for the online crowd. In practice, I just had to press the volume button 5 times, repeatedly, instead of flicking a fader up or down.

Personally I'd rather control the volume using a linear slider, like a fader. I need a 3.5mm extension (M-F).
There are products with 2.5mm jacks:

M-M:

Or built into earbuds:

Yet for some reason I simply cannot find a M-F 3.5mm inline linear volume control. What should I be searching for?

The second link looks great, thanks for finding it! I can also use it as a mic for video chats.
I might get the splitter as well, though I do worry that the audio will sound worse through a splitter. It seems like a kind of obvious need though - not everyone wants to listen at the same volume on different headphones.
