After reading about the new Sennheiser HD569 on Innerfidelity recently, I am left with the same question: I have a pair of HD518s and I wonder if the HD569 would sound any different?
In Tyll’s article he mentions that they do not have that infamous “veil” to them (nor to my HD518s). The thing with my HD518s though is that while they sound ok and are very comfy, they do lack in the mid-treble and high treble range due to a couple of dips. In the case of 9kHz to 10kHz it’s more like a drop off a cliff. I am not a bass-head, but enjoy the bass response of the HD518s, but they do sound a bit too tilted at times. EQing them only tends to help a tiny bit unlike EQing my Takstar Pro 80s or AKG 7xx in which EQing has more effect.
So, does anyone hear have deeper info on the Senn HD569? (Unfortunately, the graphs on Tyll’s site are almost unreadable). At under $200, I am considering a purchase, but only if notably different from my HD518s.
Thank you.
