I have a pair of Infinity Reference 6.5" shallow mount car audio speakers just sitting around.
Just for fun I was thinking of throwing them in some kind of enclosure.
(Just to be clear, I'm not expecting much. I didn't like how they sounded in my car, so they were replaced, now they've just been sitting here.
I have quite a bit of 3/4" MDF lying around, so I figured I could use it for something while I have free time over Christmas break.)
I haven't been able to find ANY T/S specs for these drivers, but Infinity does list the lower end of the frequency response to be 53Hz, if that means anything I don't know.
Right now I'm thinking of this:
8"W x 12"H x 10"D (external)
with one 1.5" dia x 4" long flared port (260-402)
I get that to be around 1/3 ft^3 tuned to a bit under 50Hz.
Would that be decent at all, or am I way off base here?
I probably won't ever really use these (I have my BR-1's), so if those figures look at all reasonable, I'll probably just go ahead and try it.
