Hi, I'm just looking for a cheap premade (with 1/8th plug) cable to use as a replacement on a normal pair of headphones. Hopefully something on ebay? just looking for something that i know is better than this http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-ft-3-5mm-1-8-right-angle-mini-plug-stereo-audio-cable-/190396432111?pt=US_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item2c5482feef

The 10ft one looks good. I don't need both sides to have a 1/8" plug. but I'm fixing 2 pairs of headphones so I can cut it in half. I just need to be sure it has wires that I can actually solder, not those weird enameled things.

Not sure where you got a 10ft. from, I didn't offer any. Maybe your referring to this. I can't guarantee that there is no enamel but you can always burn it off. Although Monoprice makes some pretty good stuff, I think you'd be satisfied.

Yeah I was looking at the 10ft version of the 6ft one you linked.

I saw this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/330745297536

The picture is a 1/4" for some reason. But anyway, I'm not sure if I need something longer than 10ft (5ft when cut in half) or if I need the minijack style plug, or whatever you call it, the ipod one. I'll have to think about it but a 15ft version of the monoprice ones or something like it would be ideal.

The average heaphone / earphone wire is 3.9ft. So 10ft would give you more than enough.

o really? hm well maybe my sense of perspective is off. I'll keep that in mind and probably go with a 10ft.

Thanks

The vast majority of premade headphone cables use enameled wires, which are as you noted difficult to solder.

Why not just solder your own plugs on something like miniquad or full starquad?

Starquad is EVERYWHERE.
