I need suggestions for an inexpensive (under or around $300) DAC that can accept 24/96 digital inputs that's also readily available in the UK. A UK friend is looking for one, and the Art DI/O is apparently difficult to get there.

Is UK power / plug different than US? If so, sending him a DI/O may not work out of the box.

Thanks guys. I didn't know about the M-Audio SuperDAC, and that looks promising as well. There's also the Behringer Ultramatch Pro SRC2496, which is very cheap, but I'm a bit reticent to recommend their products.

The ART DI/O appears to use a wall wart that supplies 9V AC (50 to 60 Hz is OK), 800 mA, so you could get a UK wall wart that adapts it easily.
