I've decided upon buying the westones UM3X's and I found this rather poor looking site In Ear Gear In Ear Monitors Home Page that sells them both within USA and international for a very fair price . (UM3X for $325) And I'm wondering if anyone have bought anything here before? It would ease my mind before buying these IEM's.

I also apologise if this happen to be in the wrong forum beforehand

Thanks for reading!

Bit concerned about the "No return" policy that (specific?) ebay seller uses. If my purchased UM3X's happen to have a minor error on arrival what do I do with them then? I really dont want to pay more than 340$ +shipping :/

Thanks for reply though!

That's the earphone website for Frequency City Sound and Lighting who are an authorised Westone Distributor.

I am seriously considering using them to buy the Westone UM2 for delivery here in the UK. Just waiting for feedback from ACS on whether custom sleeves would be interchangeable with the Westone 3 should I decide to upgrade int he near future.

I couldn't find anything on defective returns. You want to get that--in writing--before you give him a dime.

I don't think ACS custom tips will be interchangeable between the UM2 and the Westone 3 as they don't share the same basic shape. It's better to get tips that are molded round the earphones rather than just canal tips.

They will however fit the UM3x as it uses the same casing as the UM2 ... you could consider that upgrade path instead.

I've got ACS tips on my UM3x and they were an excellent investment.

Thanks you for the guidance. Oddly I have just read in the last hour or two about the UM3x and UM2 casing being the same.

Appreciate the steer

(Out of interest, if it's not too nosy, did you do the standard ACS £90 all-in deal for the tips, or a more specialised purchase to get the moulding round the earphone? Thanks again.)

I think ACS will usually try and make tips that mould to your earphone, as long as your concha (shell like part of your ear) is large enough.

I just bought a standard ACS custom voucher for £90 online, and when my impressions were sent off to ACS I asked the audiologist to include some instructions that I'd printed.

In the instructions I said that I would prefer my sleeves to be moulded to the earphones, if possible, and I included some photos of custom tips that I'd seen on these forums and admired ...

... as well as a picture showing a pair of custom tips that I wa less enamoured with ...

My first pair of tips weren't a very good fit, which ACS put down to poor ear impressions, so they organised and paid for me to visit a second audiologist (just 5 minutes from whe I live) and the second pair of tips I received were perfect ... even better than I'd expected.
