yep, you're right - it's pretty good.

is it me or does she sound like sarah mclachlan?

How about stuff like Six Organs of Admittance (Ben Chasny) or Tower REcordings? They are hippie-folk bands, but they are acoustic (with Eastern influences) and certainly "indie".

BTW, tyre, did you sleep at all last night (it looks like about 3 hours, based on your post times)?

I listened to Polly Paulusma for a while and really liked her music. I usually prefer harder music, too, which made it weird but she's worth checking out. She had a free single on iTunes a while ago called "She Moves in Secret Ways" which is how I found out about her.
