I'm hoping some of the people with experience building balanced equipment can tell me which XLR jacks are considered the industry standard for balanced equipment.
Basically I'm going to include chassis mounted XLR jacks on my Buffalo DAC for future use.
I know a lot of people like the Neutriks.
A link or model number for what are considered the best Neutrik jacks to use in this case would be really appreciated.

For a DAC output you should use 3-pin male XLR jacks. I like Neutrik's DL or DLX series. As for the specific part number, it depends on your preference (i.e., color of housing, style of termination, contact material, optional hole threading, etc.). Go to the Neutrik website (under Audio -> XLR chassis mount connectors) and browse. Last but not least, even though there are many variants, only some of them are readily available from the usual vendors. I find that Markertek seems to have the most in stock.

also, pro standard is:
source component jack = male XLR
receiving component jack = female XLR
