Has anyone here tried the indigo echo dj? Does it have enough power to run a Denon D2000? How would you compare it to other soundcards in the price range ($100 used)?

The DJ has a surprising amount of power: the headphone amp is quite good. Plus, there is a line out for running into a dedicated amp if you upgrade.

For laptop users looking for a usb or pcmcia card under $100, I would put the DJ at the top of the heap. It is a very, very good source.

thanks for your informative post.

do you know how the indigo dj compares to the e-mu 0202 usb?

and a somewhat related question:
What would be a better upgrade for $100, soundcard for the notebook or a portable amp (for both notebook and ipod)

I guess if you are gonna use it with a laptop, DJ will be better than the 0202 convinience wise. And the 0202 has some issues with popping and crackling on some laptops, it did a lot of that on my older Toshiba.

If you are gonna use it with a desktop however, I would guess that the 0202 is a better option.
