So, after a period of a few months, I finally mustered the courage to dig out my XP cd and attempt to install it. Windows seems to have the same kind of aversion to my laptop that I have towards it, and installing it is always a battle. This time, however, I saw it through (wiping my OpenSuse 10.2 in the process) and after some hours had WinXP booting on me. One of the first things I did was download foobar2k, drivers for my IndigoDJ and the ASIO dll. I then plugged in my ATH-3s (only headphones with me - on holiday) and hit the play button.

Jesus H. Christ, what sound.

Only now do I quite realise what they mean when they say the 'sound just opened up'. Music is well-defined - its like an entire dimension of sound has opened up around my ears and then shaken with sheer sonic impact. Overall, I'm very pleased. Can't wait to get back to my Millet Hybrid and my MS1s and K260s

In other news, I've finally dived into this foobar thing. Any pointers on how I should proceed in configuring it?
