Only necessary in certain recordings, when listening to symphonies, classical, and some OSTs is there a way to increase the volume of the quiet parts while maintaining the volume of the louder parts below hearing loss levels?
I would like to have the option in some blu-ray movies (viewing with headphones) to increase the volume of the surround sounds and other sounds but maintain the voices at the same volume.
Is there anything else that might help? I am using headphones, pc, and possibly a headphone amplifier.
Note: To resolve this issue I have had the best results listening in a sound proof room.
Here is a thread with a similar topic, but it is in the portable audio forum: http://www.head-fi.org/t/26074/dynamic-compression-portable-listening-open-headphones-symphonies#post_8218439
