Shave a couple of decades off that estimate grokit. In fact VR came out strong in Germany/Scandinavia in the 80's (sex industry of course), but was banned due to medical concerns/incidents (go figure).
Now the Tech has already been unleashed (military-industrial complex » another usual suspect), and Intel thinks it can hit the consumer market between 2015/20.
In a way it always existed - every persons reality is relative to said person...too sleepy to get into this...

Love your avatar, great job...

Well I wonder if the porn/defense applications are up to holodeck-levels of sophistication that I am imagining lol. Anyways my avatar is referring to the Wakova philosophy of keeping your inevitable death close to you at all times, as a way of keeping the rest of your life in full perspective

Anyone see the Southpark episode parody on Inception last night?  Absolutely hilarious and pretty much spot on IMO.

Am I the only who thought that Shutter Island was better overall ? I prefered the plot, the intrigue and the atmosphere.
Don't get me wrong, Inception was a rather good movie, but I felt it was more holywoodish with all the actions and the combat to make "average Joe" likes the fillm.

The best film I've seen this year is definilty Black Swan. I would be really sad if it doesn't even get a nomination for best movie in the academy award.

Yes I agree that Shutter Island was a slightly better movie overall, but the two so different that they are difficult to compare other than as DiCaprio vehicles.

Ahhh.....I thought the ending was the best part of the movie.  Predictable but still poignant.  My problem w/ Inception, other than the story, is none of the actors took it to the next level.  They didn't seem pushed.  Every one of them Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe, have done much better work.  Nolan usually gets his cast to perform better IMO, this time it seems he just let them have at it.  The technical work is great but as a movie of the Year a lot fo the finer points and attention to detail are just missing.  Overall it was a good movie, just not one of his best IMO.

If you watch Shutter Island a second time, there is some highly-telegraphed foreshadowing going on once you know how it ends.

It's just a normal movie that has been raised to abnormal levels because movie-makers didn't think confusing the public could lead to profit until now.

Thanks :)
No but seriously.
When it first came out, everyone I encountered in the malls raved about how it didn't make sense BUT how at the same time they liked it.
I guess as humans we just love to be "wowed" and "stimulated" as opposed to our boring routine lives.
One thing it has indeed accomplished is shown that it's still possible to get the majority of idiots to use their brain.

Well.....just because you can turn the car on doesn't mean you know where you are going or even how to drive.  That's the scary part I've been reading a lot of.

Agreed and no I hated the ending I just looked at the screen and thought to myself maybe I should check myself in this is bullcrap! All in all good I like Lenardo in The Departed too.
