As much as I hate clogging the Gear-Fi subforum with seemingly repetitive questions concerning lens and camera choices, I must trouble you with at least one more. That is, I'm looking for a set of primes (e.g., wideangle, standard, and telephoto) which retain adequate sharpness and can be had, as a set, for under $700 US, or somewhere around there.

Right now, I'm torn between the 135 f/2.8 (with soft focus) and 100 f/2 for my telephoto lens, but haven't been able to create a short list for any other variant. Quite simply, I'm looking for advice on a decent, but cheap, set of lenses which can cover a wide variety of shooting styles and situations; and which retain adequate sharpness.

Thanks,
Nick

$700 for 3 lenses is a bit tight. I'd do 200 2.8L, 85 1.8, 50 1.8 and Sigma 30 1.4

The only wide angle that I am interested and waiting for is the Tokina 11-16mm. I'll wait and see how the users think about it, and if it's good, then I'm gonna get it.
