Hello forummembers,

Please excuse my english, i try my best here :xf_eek:)
You already helped me once to find a good DAP. Now i have a new problem finding something... this time it is more personal. I am looking for good quality in-ear monitors that match my profile. And yes, it would be my first in-ear monitor, that would cost over 20Euros . I never believed in them and invested in big over-ear phones. I am also not a specialist, but i can clearly make the difference between good and bad sounding devices.

So here my set-up at the moment (where the in-ears should fit in):
- DAP: Pioneer xdp-100r
- Headphones: Perfect sound d902 (the smaller ones, 16 ohms, for on the way)

What Genre do i like:
- Everthying, but mostely...
- ... (sludge) metal, rock... but also...
- ... nu Jazz, Jazz, or blues

What kind of "music-profile" do i like:
- Since the d902 are pretty bass heavy, i am looking for more "clearness"
- Claer means "separating instruments", but not flat. It has to be still dynamic
- they have to be fast and keep up with metal- or rock tracks
- of course they have to "close" my ears, so i am in "my music world"
- Comfort is important. I have small ears with different sice ear holes Oo. But i would use them only for short-time listening (2 hours).

Budget:
- Around 500 Dollar. But 200-300 Dollar would be nicer of course

What kind of products did i concider:
- SE535
- PFE232
- RHA MA 750i
- Sennheiser IE80
- Westone W-Series or UM-Series
...
There are too many, thats why i am so lost....

THANK YOU so much for helping me. I am a bit lost here. I really completely missed that in-ear market...

I shall throw my vote in for the Audio Technica IM03. That has plenty of bass, while being very clear and clean and open sounding.

Another you might want to consider is the Earsonsics SM64. I have not tried this, but I came very close to buying them, based off the Impressions Thread.

The IEM I use mostly is the JH Audio Angie. That's over a thousand dollars. But I've been listening to my old IM03 a lot the last few days, and it holds up amazingly well. It's an impressive creature.

wow! Thank you Pinky Powers. They seem to be what i am searching for! Didn't knew them.
I will inform myself about these more. Reading reviews amd stuff :).

I never did earmolds. Do you think its worth it for the mentioned monitors?

No. Custom molds are a last resort if no tip on the planet gives you a good seal.

Look into the JVC SPIRAL DOTS or the UE600 tips. They have a wide bore and will sound better than the stock tips.

Ok thanls again for the tip!
Those tips are fitting on all IEM?

I concidered the molds because one of my earholes is biger than the other and the speaker often falls out. But i guess they will come with different sizes...

No tips fit all IEMs. Thus I have a collection of them. A little baggy full of silicon ear tips. You will too as you try different things out.
