My Sage is in my ears now, but I have sold my Polaris long time ago. Therefore, please take my words with a large grain of salts. I think Sage is a better all-rounder than the Polaris. Polaris has that skewed mid-range (emphasized upper-mid, sucked-out lower mid) which makes male vocal sounds "off". Sage has much better mid-range balance. However, if bass performance is your first priority I think you will prefer Polaris. Polaris has very nice bass response - tight, punchy, fast, well controlled. Sage has decent bass but it's still "BA bass".
