Dude.. um.. in ears block out most of the noise generated by an aircraft engine. If you're looking for good bass, that's the ie8. If you want something more full, in my opinion, the SM3 is just way better.

Not true. Vented IEMs, like the JVC/Victor FX700 and IE8 (?), don't block hardly any noise at all. Closed IEMs, like Westone, Etymotic, etc., do.
 
Regarding the IE8, IMO the MTPC beats it it nearly every category except soundstage. The IE8 is extremely warm too, which put me off even more. I haven't had the pleasure of listening to a SM3 yet, so I can't comment on its SQ.
