So I am planning on buying new headphones when I buy a new iPod in a few weeks. I'm wondering what would be the best headphones for the price listed? I typically listen to Rock/Metal and Hip-Hop/Rap.

Since you're in Canada and want to buy new, the Sony store has the Sony XBA-H1 for $180 or order the Vsonic GR07's from headphonebar (Canadian store). Those would be my 2 recommendations.

edit:I just checked the headphonebar website and they don't carry the GR07's anymore.

edit#2: Go check inside a sony store if you can. When I went, they were clearing out the XBA-4's for $150. I had them previously but didn't like them. They also have a good return policy.

edit#3: The apple store in Canada carries the RHA MA750i for $130. I have the version without the mic and controls and really like them. They do well with the genres of music you listen to.

Thanks a lot! Gonna try and find the RHA without the mic and controls, if I can't find them without I'll probably just buy the XBA-H1's

Wondering if this seller seems legit and if the RHA MA750 without the "i" makes a difference or not. Thanks!

The seller is RHA who makes them so it is legit. From what I have read there is no sound difference between the i and regular version.

I suggest the Vsonic GR07. You can get it here for $130 with free shipping:
