Hey all

I listen to all types of rock, mainly listen to stuff like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Mars Volta, Porcpine Tree, Mastodon. All in FLAC of course on my Galaxy S5. I have a Fiios portable amp, the cheap one.

I'm in the £50-150 pound bracket. Willing to go more if its REALLY worth it.

Etymotic ERS4 or ATH-CK10 I was looking at?

Thanks for any help.

Are you thinking of single/dual balanced armatures? Good for detail but may tire you if you have a sensitivity to high frequencies.

I tried the Weston UM 10 Pro recently - a single BA, it keeps all the detail but has a really simple and natural presentation which suits rock. If you want bass maybe look at dual BAs and upwards. Or hybrids.

I'm not too fussed about bass, I can always boost it with my amp or EQ. I just want everything to be crystal clear and also when listening at high volume, no treble harshness. Nice clean meaty riffs and singing and trebles.

Okay I'll check out the price on those.
