I Don't have OM but R3 halcyon. Same configuration than OM. The astra gives a more controlled basses and BC adds a layer that improves the overall image. Bob has tunned astra in the way that gives more details. But to have the same amount of basses than elysium, I have to use the black nozzle instead of the blue in elysium. Basses are lighter.

Once I started go up into the bigger bass nozzles - even though I started to get some more weight in the low end that I wanted I lost a lot of the details and imaging that I really enjoy.

Its the weight of the low end combined with a good tonality without loosing the profound details and imaging thats a little tricky to find (in these early days)

As I say though, as with the EDP+ I think the low end [of the ADLC] is going to take a long time to mature and loosen up
They sound nothing like how they did OOTB and continue to improve
Im excited to hear how all these latest IMR's end up sounding when fully settled in.
Im sure everything will sound fine at the end of the day

I still enjoy the beat and impact of the drums but it also needs to display the correct tonalities of each part to really impress me - I dont just want my ears punched by loads of BASS - Just makes me tired :)

I am the literal opposite, details overload tires me out but bass i get energy from and the Duracell never runs out.

:) My DNA is largely made up of 50% old hippy and 50% mad old English 1970's BBC Audio Boffin....which probably explains it
I agree, I also don't want detail overload but i do want everything present - When something is done Audiophilically well then even though the details are all there they all dissolve and send you into the music
I once went with a friend to meet her Mum who was practicing with an orchestra in a church. I walked in and they started playing Bach - There was so many instruments and bass but all that disappeared and I was just one with the music. Magical.
(As Im sure is the same for you when you is keepin' it real and ravin' and stuff man to sick beats, bruv in it)

I was just one with the music. Magical.

This is still what i am looking for too by the way. Essentially the Opus sound system that was in Gatecrasher and i have it on good authority that the Astra is Ultra Amazeballs and is a contender to have achived said feat and that pleases me greatly and kills me simultaneously.

Question for all you who have had chats with Bob.

Have you requested anything super specific that you want your next IEM to sound like thinking it would be impossible?

As above mine is a specific system, i am wondering how many requests he has had from us lol.
All I want personally is a Semper with a more secure fit, a better treble response, like smoother and sibilance free, by ditching the piezo driver and a better implementation of the EST driver.

Ive chatted with Bob in the past - I recently requested another one with him which he said yes too, in a while when things calm down for him business wise. I was intending to ask folks here if they had any questions

I was about to say ditch the piezo from Aten.

But i think creativity in tuning and sound engineering, at least looking at reviews is steadily progressive and hes gone through plethora driver and tuning configs.

What would really be interesting is if he fundamentally reworked him shell ergonomics. Something like semi customs.
Or maybe experiment with model or line up that ditches filters for sake of more secure nozzle fit?

What say you guys?
