So far I've only been a silent reader. Now I have a question.

I'm currently rebuilding my headphone chain.
I treated myself to the topping A90D.
What sound improvement could I expect from purchasing Topping D90?

I'm currently listening to the Beyerdynamic T5 2nd. It should be replaced soon, but that is a different topic

It really depends on what current dac you are using

Currently the structure is like this:
Topping A90 - >Atoll amplifier - > Bluesound Node2
That sounds good. I'm just wondering if it would be better with the Topping Dac

I have an A90/D90 stack, the only real benefit is the looks and it's a 5 volt DAC so you can stay in low or medium gain longer for best performance. In a blind volume matched test, I couldnt tell it from my Topping E50. The amp has a little larger soundstage than the A30Pro, but talking like 10 percent at most. I would spend more than $200 on a DAC after doing the comparison.
The next I get will be the SMSL DL200 which is a 5 volt DAC for $189 and includes an amp for most things, but putting a more powerful amp on it for heavy hitters. It should stack with the A90 from looking at photos.
