Improve Laptop Sound Quality

You are most likely imagining the differences, if you actually performed a blind test you would most likely see this.
I have perfect hearing and I get it checked every 6 months so I seriously doubt my hearing is so much worse I can't even perceive the sound differences you hear.
Sadly most people perceive large differences between dac's because they are told they do, they are more expensive which = better and they are better looking.
I suggest you look at the results of some blind tests.

Now listen carefully, you aren't going to be pretentious to tell me what I can and cannot hear, you hear me?

Second, I've listened to audible differences to me without any external suggestions.

And like I said, the differences can be hear even between same priced gear, so it's not about "they are more expensive which = better".

If you can't accept that, it's your problem, not mine.

I suggest you do a blind test, could you also name the dacs you have compared.
There are almost no difference between dac's because modern technology allows us to produce extremely low distortion neutral and cheap dacs.
I do not have a problem with this, it actually seems you do.
Science can be used to explain my answer, where as you have not provided any scientific or valid reason why they sound different, other than because you hear it.
Also I did not state it was just due to the price but also other factors that can skew your perspective such as visual stimuli, looks, marketing, majority opinion, cognitive bias and mood when listening.
The mind can be easily deceived, so it is not surprising you perceive differences that are not actually there.

I'll say it one last time. You know NOTHING of what or how I can listen, so keep your pretenses for yourself.

Your attitude is disrespectful and I want nothing to do with it.

Keep your dogma because it reeks from here.

Good day.

So either you have super-human senses or imagine differences.
All I suggest is that you perform a blind test between a $50-100 dac and a $1000 dac, then if you can hear a difference I will be willing to accept your view point.

This is exactly why these kinds of exchanges are pointless...
Jack, I know you're trying to entice people to see the scientific side of things but there's just no point in doing so to members of a forum that is - like every other audiophile forum - based almost entirely on subjective impressions.
We have our own corner over there in the Sound Science section, which not coincidentally, is the least visited section. Anyone who is interested in discussing things more objectively, is already over there.
So if we're going to disregard people's experiences like this, the forum may as well be closed. Let people have their own opinion, regardless of whether it is the truth or not.

Just get the uca202, it is just as portable, performs better and provides more features.
Unless you need a more powerful headphone amplifier, then I would get the U1.

The uca202 isn't great, it's great for the money but not great it has a high output impedance of 50ohms only has 1.1vrms for the rca outs and it's a bit noisey and sometimes the disortion can exceed 1%. With dac's the point of diminishing returns is about £150, $200-300.

I don't know why. But when i connect my Vostro 3750 laptop with a normal 3.5mm jack to RCA to a behringer mixer i get a full sound which sounds awesome. And when i use the uca202 the sound is like there is no bass and not much high. I have searched for a equalizer setting but i couldn't found anything. So, how do you get your uca 202 sounds great?

Hi.
I have a   Dell XPS L702x i7-2630/6GB/2x500GB/GT555 3GB/17.3/W7HP laptop,and I ask if I can improve the sound of it,using some external usb soundcard,so as to hear 24/96 or 24/192 files,with my earphones,(Yuin PK1,Fischer Audio DBA-02,and Westone UM3X),or it will be a waste of money.
Thank you.

I'm pleased with my X-FI HD. With this versatile interface I've got an ADC, DAC, USB to S/PDIF, and S/PDIF to USB converter. Right now I use it to play my iTunes library though my high end home theatre, as well as to facilitate the digitizing of LP's.
