I just found a very nice little product from Denon and I wanted to get some impressions from some other people.

It's a paired Denon receiver/amplifier with two, two-way book-shelf/desktop passive speakers.

Manufactuer's website product page:

Here are the main specs pulled from this PDF from the Denon website:

Here are some more in-detail specs on the speakers themselves from this PDF also on Denon's website:
http://usa.denon.com/DocumentMaster/US/SCM39EM_IM_v00.pdf

It looks like a very good little unit:

  1. Integrated DAC with digital optical in up to 32-bit 192kHz bit depth/sampling rate
  2. 45-40kHz freq response
  3. sub out (RCA mono)
  4. integrated CD player
  5. compatible with Apple devices
  6. 120 watts dynamic/shared peak power
  7. remote control
  8. 1/4" TRS phone jack
  9. integrated FM-only tuner
  10. analog audio in (stereo RCA)

It retails for ~400USD. Which, given the specs, I think is fair.

What do you guys think? Overpriced? Worth it?

Does anybody actually own it and can give me their opinion on it?

I've heard that these are quite nice for what they are. But I think you could do better if you put together your own and don't need a mini system with a cd player. Start with the Denon AVR-1513. Then add some EMP Tek E5Bi or Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 SEs.
