As search is currently disabled, I'd like to put forth a question that's undoubtedly been asked many times. How important is a transport? Let me put this forward. I have a Sony DVD player. It is --very-- detailed. Although it sounds terrible, no extension, etc... I would suspect that detail is a function of the transport, and the DAC. However, I feel that beyond that, it's all a function of the DAC.

If I were to buy a re-clocking device, say an AA DTI Pro 32 to eliminate jitter, and reclock the signal, and a decent DAC (Meridian / Linn / Rega / MSB Gold) should this combination compare to a good CD player from any of the respected DAC manufacturers? If not, why?
