Hi,
 
Was trying to create my first post with a few pictures of my setups. Problem is that the image button ^ (in the post editor) doesn't seem to work. Manually editing the source of the post to add <a href="dropboxpic"><img src="dropboxpic" alt="" /></a> didn't seem to work either. Is this because I am such a fresh member?

New users are not allowed to post pictures until they achieve a consistent record (to avoid spammers). Don't get rush, you'll have enough time to post everything you want.
 
In any case, you could try creating a folder, uploading pictures and use them from your profile.
