What do I know. Not very much. Trying very hard to justify a Micro Dac so I can get a RS-71 into my home rig. Is this the Year of the USB DAC? I really need some help here guys?

Best,

I find mine to be excellent, and am using it in almost the exact same set-up as you would. It really makes the music shine -- can't bear to think of using a computer source without it.

I like the micro dac a lot. I think it is at least comparable to the CI VDA-1, although I didn't do a direct comparison. I want the micro dac to use with my airport express. At $300, I don't think you could go wrong. It is very versatile.

That's a great combination. The DAC clearly outclasses my M-Audio Transit, iPod and other usual consumer/computer sources.

I thought the Overture (predecessor to the MicroDAC) > SR-71 > HD600 had an awesome synergy to it. The additional detail, clarity, strong highs just come together very nicely.

Best regards,

-Jason
