I’m stump on what capacitor to use on C2/C3. This is what I came up with for a list of possibilities for me.
Edit: whoops forgot to mention that this is for the meta and i edited out teh 18 and 16mm caps(cuz i think they are too large).
Black gate standard series 220uf @ 16v around $3.85 a piece X 4= around $15
Those are perfect fit on the META board 10mm x 20mm
Are black gate standard series advisable for it? Still the total comes up to 440uf, the minimum recommended. I was hoping to get more... any ideas?
The black gates that I came up with are from partsconnexion.
Muse FS series 220uf @ 25v around $0.62 x 4 = $2.48
Still it reaches the minimum recommended 440uf. But on the plus side is that they are a perfect fit. On the board 10mm x 16mm

These are also a perfect fit. 10mm x 16mm
The Muse that I came up with is from Handmade.
Do these huge caps have a possibility of being soldered on to the board? The Muse FX @ 18mm in diameter and the Black gates @ 18mm in diameter. I have a gut feeling you guys are going to tell me there is no way of soldering that to the board. J Is it worth it to go to such a high capacitance as 4700uf or 2200uf for C2/C3?
Should I just stick with the perfect fit caps? I was hopping to get a higher capacitance then the recommended minimum value. In hopes of getting better sound. Of the two perfect fits I see is the black gate standard series 220uf @ 16v and the Muse FS series 220uf @ 25v. Which one would you get if you were using two 9v batteries for a total of 18v? Would the capacitors @ 16v be out of the question>?
Should I be going for better quality caps or should I be looking for caps with higher capacitance. Maybe I should have asked that in the first place, but lets say four 1000uf Panasonic caps vs. four 220uf Black gates standard series, which one would sound better? Or which one is more advisable.
