number one, what can an amp do for me with my A700's? I've always heard that they 700's don't need amps to sound good. But what do amps do for you anyway? Do they make the bass more powerful? or the highs more detailed? i'm confused because i've never heard any cans through a high quality amp. And I would like to build my first amp, what is a good one to try to build?

You're just going to contribute to the "I can't hear a difference" threads.

Upgrade your HPs, then go for the AMP route.

Darn I would at least hope that these highs would get a little more clearer with an amp! Why would their be a lot of sibilance on my cans? I always thought it was due to the fact that they didn't have enough power, but I guess it's just the cans.

@Snicewicz, thanks for the linky. If i'm really dieing to make an amp I will check that one out and mabye use it for my mobile rig, who knows. But I do have soldering experience, I've never done and PCB soldering, but more less 12awg wire stuff.
